A Sense of Adventure
I love the outdoors, pushing myself, travelling to far-flung places and doing things that most people would rather run away from. Over the years I’ve been fortunate enough to traverse the globe and meet incredible people. Where possible I’ve combined my events with raising money for Prostate Cancer UK and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. My last event helped me pass £50,000 of sponsorship raised to date.
In 2024 I achieved my goal to become one of a handful of runners who’ve completed an Ultra Marathon on all seven continents.
Easter Island, Chile, 2024
An amazing place to wrap up my goal. 100km spread over multiple days of hikes and runs culminating in a 50km run in all sub-tropical weather types you can think of in a single day, from scorching sun to biblical rain.
I regularly talk give talks about my adventures and shape them according to the brief, from sport specific to coping with stress and resilience and how I bring those learnings into the workplace.
After running in Antarctica I was invited onto BBC Newsround, a children’s show in the UK and so adjusted the subject matter to something more interesting to a younger audience.
Panama Coast to Coast, 2022
Delayed for two years due to Covid, it was great to finally get out to run, hike and pack raft 212 km from the Pacific to the Atlantic. The jungle element was by far the hardest thing I’ve attempted yet.
Mongol 100, Mongolia, 2019
4 marathons in 4 days crossing a frozen lake in Mongolia. An incredible environment to run in with temperatures dropping to -30°. Running with crampons across 2’ thick transparent ice was something very new!
Faultline 100km, New Zealand, 2024
A single stage, 4,500m ascent and descent in the incredible countryside around Wellington, NZ. Running through the night and crossing the finish line just as the sun came up.
Marathon des Sables, Morocco, 2016
The MdS is a multi-day 257km/6 marathon event run in the very hot and very dry Saharan Desert carrying everything you need for the week aside from water. On the final day, the humidity dropped to 7% and the temperature rose to 53°
Antarctica, 2014
A 100km event that due to extreme conditions took just under 24 hours to complete and pushed me further than I’d ever imagined experiencing. Complete exhaustion, hallucinations and driving horizontal winds in the driest desert in the world. And I loved every second of it!
Royal Parks Ultra, London, 2012
Where it all began, with a 50km run through London and along the Thames
